Like many stairlift manufacturers, Acorn Stairlifts has many dealers worldwide, serving customers in more than 70 countries.  Acorn Stairlifts started quite modestly in 1992 by buying, reconditioning and reselling pre-owned chair lifts. It also bought new lifts from other UK manufacturers. Soon, demand for chair lifts outstripped supply and Acorn was forced to consider other supply options.

Acorn Stairlifts decided to design and manufacture a new stairlift to maintain control over quality. This is how the Acorn Superglide stair lift was born.  It became a market leader and is still a technological leader.

Acorn Stairlifts looked at the negative points of other stairlift manufacturers’ lifts and ironed them out, focusing on safety, simplicity, and easy installation and maintenance.
