This past month has been busy! Between the full renovation of a bathroom, juggling bids and calls there has been zero time to keep up with marketing. Its nice to have a little down time for a short burst of online work.

This last project was a an interesting blend of accessibility and aging in place. A full bathroom renovation equipped with an accessible walk-in shower, accessible toilet, mirrored by an eight jet jacuzzi tub and a radiant tile floor.

Originally the space was very limited due to an unnecessary door to the shower and toilet area. I don’t understand why some builders close off the toilet and shower from the rest of the bathroom. This does not create a spa type atmosphere just another barrier. After knocking down the wall and expanding the shower area the space really came into its own.

I believe this is one of RSS’s most elegant restoration to date! It was wonderful working for our clients we hope that they enjoy the space for many years to come!

Quick tip:

When installing grab bars to the wall make sure that you connect to a stud. If you want a grab bar where a stud is not located, cut into the wall and brace between the studs, take a measurement, patch the drywall and install the grab bar. Grab bars are for your safety. They become unsafe if not properly braced.
